Common questions
Industrial first aid,
without the guesswork.
Straight answers to the questions that usually come up when a project is being planned, mobilized, or reviewed.
How do we know what first aid coverage our site needs?
The starting point is a site-specific first aid assessment. Crew count, hazard rating, work locations, ambulance access, barriers, transport time, shifts, and changing site conditions all affect the result. Meridian can review those factors and help turn them into a practical coverage plan.
What is the difference between an industrial ambulance and an MTC?
An industrial ambulance combines a treatment environment with a mobile emergency-transport platform. A Mobile Treatment Centre is a dedicated treatment facility suited to longer-term or stationary operations. The correct option depends on access, transport needs, hazards, crew size, and the applicable assessment.
Does Meridian have ambulances and MTCs available?
Yes. Meridian has industrial ambulances and Mobile Treatment Centres available. Unit configuration and scheduling are confirmed for each project, so early notice is helpful for longer deployments.
Can Meridian provide personnel without a vehicle?
Yes. Qualified first aid personnel can be arranged for relief, rotational, seasonal, event, short-term, and extended assignments. Meridian can also review the equipment and response plan already in place.
Can you develop or review our ERP?
Yes. Meridian can support site-specific emergency response planning, evacuation and medevac considerations, first aid procedures, communication plans, drills, documentation reviews, and the connection between the written plan and actual field access.
Can we rent first aid and medical equipment?
Yes. Available options include first aid and trauma kits, AEDs, oxygen, stretchers, splints, patient-handling equipment, medical bags, radios, and related safety equipment. Packages can be built around a full site setup or a specific gap.
Where does Meridian provide service?
Meridian supports projects across British Columbia, with a service network centred around Kelowna, Revelstoke, Quesnel, and Prince George. Remote mobilization is assessed by project location, road access, schedule, and unit availability.
What should we send for an accurate quote?
Include the worksite location, project dates and duration, shift schedule, expected crew count, site access, known hazards, transport time to medical care, current first aid setup, and any contract-specific requirements. If some details are still unknown, Meridian can help identify what needs to be confirmed.
